KELAA BNI WATIN
Life story of the cooperative
In the heart of the Ouazzane province in 2019, amidst fields rich with medicinal and aromatic herbs, the idea of the Kelaa Bni Watin Cooperative was born as a collective dream for the region's inhabitants. It began with thyme cultivation and later evolved into an integrated project involving 9 members and benefiting 70% of the douar's residents. The journey was not easy, as the cooperative faced major challenges, starting with the renovation of its headquarters and equipment procurement—obstacles that were overcome with the support of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). Although production and facilities are now in excellent condition, the marketing challenge continues to concern the members, yet they persevere with determination, driven by their vision of achieving sustainable prosperity.
