Life story of the cooperative
Founded in 2019 through an alliance of six women’s cooperatives in Dakhla‑Oued Ed‑Dahab, the ITTIHAD BADIYAT ESSAHRAE Union works to preserve Sahrawi food heritage and modernize the production of traditional couscous. ONSSA certification marked a key structuring step in its journey, facilitating access to national and international fairs. Today, the Union stands as a model of female empowerment and the transformation of food crafts into a high‑potential economic project.
