INSAF
Life story of the cooperative
Founded in 2002 in Ifrane with the participation of 50 women, the INSAF cooperative is one of the pioneering actors in the economic empowerment of rural women in the region. Initially specialized in beekeeping, it successfully evolved its model in 2016 by shifting toward the valorization of medicinal and aromatic plants—a know‑how deeply rooted in the territory. Today composed of seven members, the cooperative develops a diverse range of natural cosmetics and essential oils, produced using environmentally respectful practices based on organic farming. Thanks to the constant commitment of its members, the transmission of local knowledge, and a high standard of quality, INSAF has strengthened its resilience in the face of climate constraints and consolidated its presence in local and national markets. The cooperative is also engaged in a modernization dynamic, progressively integrating digital marketing as a lever for visibility and sales. Holding health‑safety certifications and nationally and internationally recognized accreditations—including FOODEX and Agrément—INSAF today embodies a sustainable model of female cooperation, blending social impact, product quality, and responsible valorization of local resources.
