Life story of the cooperative
In Tangier, the Chakran Boueross Cooperative was born in 2017 thanks to the commitment of five passionate members eager to promote local medicinal and aromatic plants. From the start, they proactively engaged with the Office for Cooperative Development to thoroughly understand the workings of cooperative operations and each member's responsibilities. Trained and supported by the office, they gained solid expertise, particularly in beekeeping, and learned to mobilize available support mechanisms. Bolstered by the support of the National Initiative for Human Development, the cooperative not only overcame its initial challenges but also strengthened its presence and expanded its influence in local and regional markets, continuing its development with confidence and ambition.
